1. Purpose and Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines the rules governing the use of the Estel Platform. Our mission is to facilitate professional B2B connections. Any use of the Platform that undermines professional integrity or violates privacy is strictly prohibited.
2. B2B Professional Use Only
Estel is a tool for Business-to-Business (B2B) sales intelligence and recruitment. You agree NOT to use the Platform for:
- Personal Use: Searching for individuals for non-professional reasons (e.g., "doxing," stalking ex-partners, or private investigations).
- Consumer Marketing: Targeting individuals in their capacity as private consumers.
- Sensitive Categories: Searching for data related to protected health information, children under 18, or "Special Categories" of data under GDPR Art. 9.
3. Outreach & Communication Compliance
While Estel provides the "reveal" and "orchestration" tools, you are the sender of any outreach. You must comply with:
- Email Laws: CAN-SPAM (USA), CASL (Canada), and the ePrivacy Directive (EU). You must provide a clear "Opt-Out" in all AI-generated emails.
- Telephony Laws: You are prohibited from calling numbers on national "Do Not Call" (DNC) or "Telephone Preference Service" (TPS) registries.
- Frequency: You agree not to use AI-generated content to "bombard" or "spam" prospects at a frequency that constitutes harassment.
4. Integration Integrity (The "Orchestrator" Rule)
Since Estel interfaces with third-party providers like Apollo.io:
- No Account Sharing: You may not share your Estel or Apollo credentials to allow unauthorized users to "pool" data.
- Rate Limits: You must not use automated scripts to "scrape" Estel's matching engine or bypass the rate limits of your connected third-party accounts.
- Terms Alignment: You must remain in compliance with the Terms of Service of any third-party provider you connect to Estel.
5. AI & Content Ethics
When using Estel's AI outreach features, you agree:
- No Deception: You will not use AI to impersonate a specific real person you do not have the right to represent (e.g., "Deepfaking" a CEO's identity).
- Transparency: You will not remove any "Generated by AI" watermarks or disclosures if required by local law.
6. No Resale or "Data Brokering"
This is the most critical rule for our 2026 compliance model:
- You are granted a license to use enriched data for your internal business purposes only.
- You are strictly prohibited from reselling, redistributing, or sub-licensing contact data revealed through Estel to third parties.
- You may not use Estel to build a competing "Contact Database" or "Lead List" for public sale.
7. Monitoring and Enforcement
Estel reserves the right to:
- Monitor Usage: We use automated patterns to detect "scraping-like" behavior or mass-reveal abuse.
- Suspend Access: We may immediately suspend accounts that trigger high "Spam" reports or violate the B2B-only restriction.
- Cooperate with Authorities: We will cooperate with law enforcement if the platform is used for criminal harassment or identity theft.
